Long way to Basa Delta

Today we try to go to Basa Delta, where I will do my first bird observations. But getting there is a big journey ...
From Karaoy we start our trip early in the morning. The friend of Professor Nurtazin explains us the way. Niels, Azim and Ruslan go by car. Евгений (Jewgeni), Маргулан (Margulan), Sayyid and me go with Professor Nurtazin's friend by boat.

As we arrive at "Basa Delta", we recognize that this is not the place we were looking for. Accidentally we went to Basa Afganec, which is much more in the north of the Ili Delta. So we go all the way back to Karaoy. There we organise with really slow internet a GPS track, which will lead us the right way to Basa Delta.
So in the afternoon we start again. This time Azim, Jewgeni, Niels, Ruslan and me go by car. First we follow the river from Karaoy again. But this time we are on the southside of the river. After three hours driving through the steppe, we reach the end of the road ...

From the roof of our car, we spy some houses which might be Basa Delta.
Azim calls the number of Basa Delta we found in the internet.






Half an hour later Andrey,
one of the workers in Basa Delta,
comes to pick us up.
So by boat we can reach the tourist fishing station of Basa Delta now.

As we arrive in Basa Delta, we get some nice food from the two kitchen ladys, which are working here. Also the owner of База Делта offers us a room we can stay in for the next days.
So tomorrow morning Jewgeni and me will get up with sunrise to do my first bird observation for my master thesis data collection. In total we will stay for four days in База Делта, because in every place I do four observations in plots with different landscape structure.
