We celebrate the wedding of Valerie and Jochen, today.
The couple are friends from Dennis and live actually in Germany. But today they are getting married in the city district Karen of Nairobi in Kenya and we are invited. It's the first participation in a wedding for me at all!

Today, my colour is blue.
Dennis needs to leave now, because he is one of the five groomsmen and has to get the bride from her family and bring her to the church and her nearly husband.
Getting the bride from her parents needs a musical convoy.
Lots of negotiations, time and money is also necessary to obtain the bride.
But finally the aunts give Valerie's suitcase to the bestman and the bridegroom's mother, which is a symbol that the bride is now free to go to her groom.

During the time of getting the bride,
the other wedding guest are waiting at the church.
Everybody is excited to see the bride.

But the bride is still not apparent.
(As we are told later, at the house of Valerie's parents, the energy was gone this morning. Valerie could not do her hair. She went to the church, but were hiding in a room in the back and did her hair.)

During the ceremony, there is a lot of singing and dancing.
In total, the ceremony lasts for almost two hours.
No wonder that the small guests need a break in between.

After the ceremony in the church, we are having a party at a nice garden place. But the wedding guest are going there alone and the bridal couple together with the groomsmen and best maids go somewhere else to take pictures. This is suppose to take an hour, but the wedding guest are waiting longer again ...

While waiting at the garden, we get food and drinks and are entertained!
Very soon the wedding guest are starting to dance.
That's so much fun!
And then the leading characters of this day are arriving.
We escort them dancing into the garden.
After the big lunch of corse there is a wedding cake.

Jochen and Valerie have to feed each other with the cake to symbolize that they will alwalys care for each other.

Later the party goes on at our hotel with the German wedding guest. The next day is for resting in Nairobi and afterwards we are going for a round trip in Southern Kenya with some German and Kenyan wedding guest.
